Braved the howling gale and did 24hrs on my little summer water. Hasn't done no more than 2 fish in 3 months both end of December. Didn't go to bad. Prebaited every day for a week with probably 2 kilos of shellfish scattered around a spot. Shellfish yellow clone popups soaked in vanilla/maple hydro core for something different. 3 bites all in daylight. 28lb 8oz, 21lb 8oz, and a double. Well pleased. The mirror happened to be the lake mug that haunts me , but a fish.😊
Oh yes! Glad I dragged myself fishing now 28lb 8oz common. Rods in the water an hour. 1st fish out since December last year.😀😀😀😀 pretty sure it's fifty shades of grey.😊 Jim Rawcliffes moretakes shellfish clone popup over a scattering of shellfish.
First time post on here following my first trip out with Jim's bait. I've been fishing a tricky Essex pit of 35 acres for the past 9 months. The water is weedy with depths down to 40 plus feet. ... The fishing is best discribed as challenging, to give a better idea of how challenging it is, there has only been 4 bites to the syndicate since November. Following a discussion with Mr Rawcliffe I decided to give the Fruit & Nut and Shellfish a try. My trip coincided with the arrival of storm Dennis, which made for rather an uncomfortable trip. The damp and windy conditions were however soon forgotten as I managed 7 bites landing 5, including Commons of 35lb and 23lb 8oz and 3 Mirrors of 35lb 8oz, 17lb 8oz and 20lb 4oz. All fish came to low lying pops over crumb. More than happy with the start on More Takes bait and rather keen to get out again and try my luck! Thanks Jim, for a great bit of bait! See more — with Jim Rawcliffe. #moretakes
Short day session again today, managed to land 2 fish, unfortunately losing a much bigger one. This 14lb mirror being the biggest, which is also the same fish I had a couple of weeks ago!!! Guess it loves the fruit and nut! #fruitandnut
Well the winter has been good for me this year here’s some of the lovely scaley ones I’ve had most of them falling to the fruit and nut with a couple on the shellfish I think it’s time I done a few jobs at home to earn some brownie points for my next adventure be lucky all
Young Hudson Stewart aged 11 has just had his first 20 and PB today with this glorious common from a private lake in St. Osyth on a multi rig with a Vanilla Maple pop up. Hudson and his father have moved onto the More Takes bait since i gave them a few samples and never looked back!!!
